Welcome to a stunning book of photographs that will fascinate you and challenge your perceptions of architectural space. Here is the photography of Algimantas Kezys, in 126 photographs that come from a truly inspired artistic sense of the human use of space.
Photographs from forty-six cities in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Europe, and Japan exhibit Keys' true genius of perception. With a unique "eye" for capturing urban scenes he reveals our architectural environment in ways never seen before, capturing the geometrical essence of each city and giving us a glimpse into the uniqueness of his vision.
While his photographs employ unusual camera angles, distinctive composition, and dramatic lighting, Kezys never artificially adjusts his images in the darkroom. Composition is done with the camera itself.
"Maybe the greatest marvel in this photographic volume is that for Algimantas Kezys the art of photography is in the actual shooting, not in darkroom tricks and double exposures. Multiple overlaid reflections shot in glass doors and windows produce layered and split images from real life… from Jerusalem to . .. Tennessee, the journey through time remains fluid, humanly enlightening, and formally exciting.”
-from the Foreword by Gordon Ligocki
