The life story of Simas Kudirka, a radio operator on a Soviet fishing trawler, who jumped ship off of Martha's Vineyard on November 23, 1970, and sought political asylum aboard the United States Coast Guard vessel Vigilant. This is his story as told by Jurgis Gliauda.
